Smudging dates to B.C. civilisations and has become very popular again in recent times. To the native people of America, the sacred smoke of Sage was traditionally used in ceremonies for cleansing. The spirit world is one of mystery and the twirling smoke lets you glimpse parts of that unseen world.
 
Legend has it that negative energies attach themselves to the smoke and leave, making way for good and helpful spirits.
 
The burning of sage with positive intent - verbally or mentally, can be done as often as you like to purify your surroundings at home or work.
The kit provided uses 3 elements from the natural world - abalone shell, white sage, and a feather.
 
The Sage is organically grown without artificial sprays or fertilisers.
 
The smudge stick should be ignited at one end and gently blow the embers until it starts to smoulder.
Let the unlit end rest in the abalone shell supported with one hand and fan the smoke using the feather.
You can do just one room or the entire dwelling.
Be careful to fully extinguish all embers after each smudging session.
